Corned Beef & Bacon Cheese Fries Recipe

Hey everyone! I made one of my favorite dishes today for mother & thought I would share the recipe with you. You can do different variations of it but today since I was limited on ingredients I only used the ingredients pictured above plus onions and dashinomoto (fish flakes).

Step 1: Peel potatoes. Make sure to take out all of the eyes.
I used two potatoes since I am cooking for two.

Step 2:  Chop the potatoes however you like, I did them french fry style. I cut them in half them sliced them the long way.

Step 3: Chop up onions into small squares.

Step 4: Slice bacon into small strips. I only used three half slices which is about one full slice & a half.

Step 5: Since I cooked for two I used half a can of corned beef. I would say about a quarter of a can a person.

Step 6: I was in a hurry so I used two different pans at the same time. If you have more time then you can do one at a time. It'll probably save you trouble & you will have better results since you can won't risk over cooking anything. Anyway I put some oil on one pan for the fries. On one I fried just potatoes for a while. Then added onions. Fry everything on LOW because if you have too much heat it will burn before everything is properly cooked. This goes for both pans.
In another pan fry bacon first. The bacon will produce enough oil that you won't need to put your own oil. Then add the corned beef.

Step 7: Combine everything into one pan. Then in whatever order add shoyu (soy sauce) about one and a half swirls and about a little less then a quarter of a pack of dashinomoto is to my liking but you should just swig little by little & taste as you go to get the right amount for you. If you add too much of either, the ingredient will over power the taste & only taste like dashi or shoyu. Be careful!

Step 8: Make sure it's all mixed up then add a small handful of four cheese mexican. Mix some more then you are done! There's tons of flavor already but if you are feeling like a bit of extra would do then try some sour cream like I did or even ranch dressing.

NOTE: This is an extremely high calorie food so if you are dieting this is definitely the wrong food to be making. Your hips might be begging for a run on the treadmill afterwards. It's a guilty pleasure comfort food that I like to indulge in once in a while. But hey YOLO so let's enjoy life sometimes :-P Hope you like it!

OKUMA BEACH FEST 2013

This past weekend I went to Okuma Beach Fest 2013. Okuma Festival is a music festival up in the country side of Okinawa. There were a few artists I enjoyed seeing like Okinawa's D-51 & Hawaii's Konishiki. Mostly I was there for the camping & drinking with my good friends. It was nice to get together by the campfire & get silly. My friend Heather & I went up Thursday night to have some girl time. We got drunk in the cabin playing UNO & went for a midnight swim in the cold ocean water! The next day we did some paddle boarding, which was harder then I thought it would be! Def ate it a bunch of times. We floated so far from shore that we ended up getting rescued by a really nice jetski dude. My first jetski ride ever! All in all a good weekend! Can't wait to go back to Okuma in a few weeks when my girl Yvonne is visiting from the states! :-)

Japanese Home Depot

My mother & I started working on our yard now that it's Spring & the weather is nice. We've been making regular trips to Make-Man which is kind of like a Home Depot type store with flowers, gardening & hope improvement equipment. We bought purple petunias to hang in front of our front door! ^.^ One of my favorite things to do while at Make-Man is to go to the pet area & look at all the cute puppies. I wish I could buy them all!
Outfit: Abercrombie & Fitch Hoodie, O'neill dress, Roxy loafers, Louis Vuitton Damier Azur bag.
I feel like this look doesn't look as cute with my new hair style & perhaps I'm outgrowing it since I'm getting older. But whatever I needed a casual outfit to run my errands in :-)

Hinoe Izakaya

A few nights ago I DDed since my Mom (not pictured) wanted to go to a party at an izakaya called Hinoe. I had never been there but had passed it many times so it was cool to try a new place. Since I wasn't drinking, all I really had to do was eat & watch all of the drunk people talk/fight with one another haha! Okinawans tend to order 5 thousand things at once so there was a tonnnnnn of food. Here are some pictures of my favorites dishes that we consumed: butterfish, mixed kebabs, pizza, & cheesecake. Considering I was sober with a bunch of super drunkies it was a fun night & I also made a new Japanese friend Ayaka. She is so cute & sweet & the same age as me. :-) It was actually a party for her & I'm really glad I met her!

I was super excited when I found this package in my mail box because Ania has a love for cute things just as I do. I really hope that some where some how we meet one day!The sweets were so yummy, I especially loved the Goralki wafer.... it was soooooooo good that I ate it in like two seconds.  Also I love the postcards she sends me from around the globe. I especially love the Valentine card in Polish! One day I plan to frame it & put them on my wall. :-) Thank you so much Ania!!!

Studio Ghlibi Sketch Art

So a few weekends ago I went to see the Studio Ghibli sketch art showing at the Naha museum. I couldn't take pictures of the sketches but basically they were all just original practice sketches for the movies & it was a great chance to see some of the thought process of how they put the animes together. Afterwards they had a huge wall full of "makurokurosuke" as seen in Totoro & Sentochihiro which were all drawn by guests who came to see the showing. My mother & I made our own (CheChe & Mommy) & put it next too a cute drawing of Haku, who is one of my all time favorite Ghlibi characters! I have such a crush on him! Also all around the museum they had Ghibli wall decals which I wish I could have for my house. :-P They even had a illusion floor where you could take a picture on top of Totoro sleeping in his cave as well as a wall with Ponyo. It was a nice mother daughter bonding experience since we both love Ghibli as we both grew up with their films.
