February 21st was my 21st birthday! The golden birthday! I had work & class (thus the late night mad scientist hair in the photo!) so I didn't get to go out & celebrate but my mom made me steak & also got me a cookies & creme ice cream cake from Baskin Robins. All of it was so delicious! My mother also bought me my first little bouquet of flowers. Thanx to my friend Yuna for the cute Hello Kitty Wonderland themed stuff & strawberry sweets. ^.^

Save Water Drink Beer!
Today my mom's friend Takara san took us ladies out to lunch at Ryukyu Sushi House, a sushi buffet. Yuna (not pictured) wanted to go here because the adds always look really nice. The food was AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL, over priced, & the service was horrible... the decor was a mix of random armed forces flags, American football flags, and whiskey posters. There were also lot's of posters & shirts that said, "Save Water Drink Beer!" Although the food was bad it was nice of Takara san to take us out & we got a rise out of making fun of the place. But I guess it's always good to try different restaurants. :)

Yoshida Fusion Dining
On Saturday February 11th, my mother took Yuna & I to Yoshida Fusion Dining which is a French style restaurant. We were there to celebrate my 21st birthday although that's not until next Tuesday. It was an interesting place.. the food wasn't very French.. it was very Japanese but it was still a blast. The food was not bad & it was very fancy, the hot dog was a little random though hahah. :) All in all I had a great time, thanx Mommy I love you!! I wouldn't mind going again once the menu changes.

Sandy's
I love the beach. Sandy's is one of my favorites. The waves are always huge, there are always cute guys to look at, a wiff of pot is usually lingering in the air mixed in with the smell of the salt water, & on top of that it's just a gorgeous beach. Add good company & it's perfection.

Beach Day with the Bestie
Went to a beach somewhere in Makapuu. I forget what this beach was called but it's right by Sandy's. We had to hike down to get to it, as you can see from the first picture. It was a nice somewhat secluded area & it wasn't over crowded so that was nice. :) I miss my bestie Seraiah! <3
edit ---
The beach is called Cockroach Cove.

Band Practice
What some people don't know about me is that when I was I was in middle school/high school I was a show kid. I used to be into punk, metal, indie actually anything considered rock. I'd always be at a gig on the weekends, even on the week nights. I still love that stuff but I mean back then that used to be MY LIFE. I had my lip pierced when since I was 14 but I took it out when I turned 20. I dressed real grungy. I dreamed about being a roadie. I always felt like a wallflower or an outcast but I had my show friends. When I went back to Hawaii I felt like a kid again. I sat in on a friend's band (Cogito) practice & we just drank beer & watched em' jam. It was sick.

Setsubun No Hi
Before I go on with the Hawaii trip pictures I've decided to blog about today. Today is Setsubun no Hi in Japan. It's a day to welcome Spring where we do a bean throwing ceremony called Makemaki. We throw beans out the door or at an Oni (Demon) so that we can ward away the evil from last year and bring in good fortune this year. We did this in my classroom today & it was one of the most hilarious things I have ever witnessed. My students are kindergarteners & about 80% of them hid behind me & cried the whole time while trying to throw beans at the Oni. The crying did not cease until about 20-30 minutes after the event was over. I could also hear the children from other classes freaking out too. I have never had so many children run & hide behind me soooo quickly. I also ate some beans for good luck & helped the kids with their Oni masks. Work was quite fun today.
