Churaumi Aquarium Field Trip

Went to Churaumi Aquarium for a work field trip yesterday. It is the second largest aquarium in the world. The sea creatures were so beautiful & the whale shark was enormous. I'm a pisces & something about the water & the animals was so comforting to me. It made me want to hop in there & go swim with them :P The dolphin show was very cute & there was also a live scuba show where the diver talked about the different animals. Can't wait to go again on my own time. :) 

Postcard to Poland & a Letter to England!

Sorry to Ankyls because this is a bit of a spoiler since the Okinawa postcard is for you! The other day I got mail from my pen pal in Poland. I was so pleased to get all of these beautifully photographed pictures of Anna's neighborhood & a very cool Polish penny! I will show everybody the mail she send me in a later post. After posting my excitement on instagram, I got a comment from a girl in England who wants to be pen pals as well. Being a hopeless romantic & believing that life should be like in a movie I cling to older forms of communication. Growing up I had always wanted dozens of pen pals but was not responsible enough to keep in touch with them. I do enjoy the benefits of technology but there is something so special & thrilling about waiting for a mail man to bring a letter from a complete & total stranger. 

Free Moments in Okinawa

I have been so busy with work & college that I have neglected this blog completely. But soon I will be taking a vacation to Chicago & there will be many blog posts to come. I am so excited. Here are some random pictures of my life in Okinawa from the past month or two. Lately I have been so busy that when I have a moment of freedom I walk my dogs by the beach, drink wine, play video games & eat yummy foods. Haven't been out on the town too much. 

Piece of Peace - LEGO

A little while ago I went to the Piece of Peace World Heritage Exhibit built with Lego. They had use pieces made all with lego and beautiful models of famous spots from all over the world!!! Pretty awesome.

Trick Art Show

Sorry for the lack of posting, been extremely busy with school & work. Earlier this month I went to a trick art showing with my mom. Basically they were just paintings on the floor & walls & if you look at the photo with your camera or camera phone it looks like the art is popping out, the floor is a hole, etc. The illusions were cool & we got to do funny poses & have some fun mother-daughter pictures together. :) 

A Nice Day With New Friends

Last Sunday I had a lunch date with my new friends Kiana & her daughter Kai. We went to Climax Cafe which I featured in an earlier post. It was nice hanging out with someone who's from the same place I am & just talk about home & have girl time. Plus Kai is the cutest lil thing with a lot of sass & heart. About 30 minutes after meeting her she says, "Auntie, I love you so much." Too cute. The weather was gorgeous so we chilled by the beach where Kai got to play in the sand. All in all a fun day.

Golden Afternoon

A little while ago I went to a flower showing at Plaza House. The place was overcrowded with little old ladies and their hubbies. :) I walked around in awe, there were so many beautiful flowers. Some of the flowers reminded me of the flowers from Alice in Wonderland, I felt like they were going to start singing Golden Afternoon like in the cartoon version, "Pom pom pom pom..." haha. There were so many different types of flowers as well as some funky looking ones that I had never seen in my entire life. Also, they had awards for certain flowers for which flowers bloomed the best, the rarest, the most beautiful, etc. If only there had been some bread-and-butterflies to kiss the tulips, then the showing would have been perfect!
